That file size is almost twice what I have here. Have you tried
downloading the file again? I can only repeat that the file I
downloaded (exactly as any user would) had the right checksum.

Resolved. Thank you again, Michael for you assistance.
I had deleted and re-downloaded the file several times before my first
note, and had also done the same with the sums files, all to no avail.
Yesterday I did a total reboot of all hardware in my LAN including my
satellite modem, due to a local power glitch. Last night I
re-downloaded the subject file and got a clean copy. Since I had been
successfully downloading files from the same directory at virtualbox
and also from other sites throughout, and only this one file failed,
several times, I was deluded into thinking the file itself might be
the problem. Gremlins, I guess.
