There has already been a big discussion here on the list (i guess you
can find in the archives) about the possibility of installing a
Windows OEM license in VirtualBox. MS does not approve, you would not
be legalized and probably your installation will complain one time or
another about his license being invalid.
I've had good luck with calling the activation phone number when
activation doesn't work and saying that you've had to do major
motherboard replacement/upgrade and now reinstalling when the activation
failed. It's kind of true. Mostly. As far as I'm concerned, a VM is a
major motherboard replacement. :-)
I think the major difference over previous OS releases is that Microsoft
is now paying attention to the number of times a license key is used
both in parallel and serial. I've cloned activated VM's and after two or
three clonings, the VM stops working. Maybe I was just unlucky but it
took another call to get the VM's to work.
